Working from our Cramlington headquarters, Neil brings 15 years of technical experience and expertise to the role, which will see him lead a team of four technical auditors and ensure technical excellence is maintained and improved among all ASKAMS’s services.

Neil has a wealth of experience in all aspects of asbestos surveying and supervisory analytical work, covering all property types UK wide, from domestic through to large industrial. He has also worked around the world, undertaking surveys and analytical work on maritime vessels involved in the oil industry and Ministry of Defence.

Speaking about his new role, Neil said: “It’s fantastic to join a business that continues to excel in a highly competitive sector, winning work through its commitment to quality, service and health and safety.

“I was impressed with the way in which the company has achieved natural organic growth over the last few years, even in financially challenging times, through the passion of its senior management team who strive to be the best at what they do through continuous innovation and now, diversification into other compliance services.”

ASKAMS’s managing director, Stewart McNicholl said: “Neil has many years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge that ASKAMS can benefit from in sectors like commercial, petrochemical, offshore and marine. His dedication to technical excellence will mean we will continue to raise the bar in our technical capabilities and the quality and delivery of our services.”

Neil joins ASKAMS from Santia Consulting Ltd where he began as business projects manager and progressed to operations manager for the North of England and Scotland, leading a team of 22.

Former technical and training manager, Nik Porter, has now taken a full time training role within ASKAMS.

Neil’s appointment takes the number of support employees working from Cramlington to 15 and the total number of ASKAMS staff to 55.
